News from the CIUSSS

Message from the President and CEO of CIUSSS West-Central Montreal

The fourth wave of the pandemic is now upon us — but each and every one of us can do something to fight back: We can get vaccinated — right now.

The Government of Quebec has put a new measure in place that requires anyone who wishes to visit or work in a health or social services facility to be adequately vaccinated by October 15.

Patients and clients will still be able to receive treatment or care, regardless of their vaccination status. But everyone else must be fully vaccinated.

This is not just a regulation — it’s a common-sense necessity. The number of COVID-19 infections is rising, mostly among those who have not been vaccinated. Even more distressing is the fact that increasing numbers of young, unvaccinated people are winding up in intensive care. You can do your part to help turn the tide, simply by rolling up your sleeve.

It’s your way of protecting the well-being of our health care workers and your family, friends and neighbours. You will be doing your own essential part in a war that we really can win.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have often said, “We’re all in this together.” Well, now is your chance to really prove it. By getting vaccinated, you’ll be coming together with people throughout community to put an end to COVID-19, once and for all.
